Flight Guidelines
The 2024 PCC Greek Isles Cruise Course with Gordon Christensen and Practical Clinical Courses will be sailing on Princess Cruises’ Sun Princess from Rome to Athens. Due to important embarkation and disembarkation regulations, Princess Cruises recommends the following flight guidelines when confirming your flight arrangements.
Important Reminder: Valid Passport “books” are required for international air travel, must contain several blank pages and be valid 6 months beyond the scheduled return date. Complete names on Passports must match exactly as they appear on flight reservations or boarding will be denied. Additional information available at Travel Documents.
Helpful Hint: When researching flight options, be sure to select the "Multi-city" option not one-way or round-trip. This will enable you to fly into Rome and return from Athens all in the same reservation.

*IMPORTANT: When arranging your flights, pay close attention to both the departure date and the arrival date since most flights to Europe travel overnight. It is also recommended to select non-stop flights (when available) or at least the fewest number of connections. While some airlines may offer itineraries with short connection times, it is not advised. As a suggestion, confirm flights with connection times of about 3 hours each. We highly recommend arriving on or before Friday, June 7th, 2024 to allow for delays or airline related problems (hotel and ground transportation not included).
The Sun Princess will begin boarding at 1:00 p.m. Rome city center is approximately 90 minutes travel time to the pier in Civitavecchia, so plan accordingly. Government regulations require all guests complete embarkation and board by 4:30 p.m. or boarding could be denied. The Sun Princess will sail from Civitavecchia at 6:00 p.m.

*IMPORTANT: Many flights from Athens to the U.S. are scheduled with morning departures. When confirming your flights, it is highly recommended to follow the above guidelines. Because of disembarkation formalities, the distance to the airport (approximately 1 hour), and early check-in requirements (at least 3 hours prior for international flights), flights must be scheduled with departure time after 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 15th, 2024. You may consider extending your stay in Athens at least one night (hotel and ground transportation not included).
